Desert Knowledge Australia (DKA) acknowledges and pays respect to the Arrernte people, as the traditional owners and custodians of the land on which the Desert Knowledge Precinct stands.

We recognise the rich and diverse cultures, languages, and histories of the First People, who have cared for this land for countless generations.

We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first knowledge holders of this land.

We honour the Elders, the Apmereke-artweye (traditional owners) and the Kwertengerle (custodians) past, present, and emerging, and we acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.

We stand in solidarity with Indigenous communities, committed to reconciliation, justice, and the ongoing journey of healing and respect for all.

DKA is committed to working with Lhere Artepe Aboriginal Corporation (LAAC), as the representative body of the Native Title Holders of Alice Springs. Through our Indigenous Land Use Agreement, DKA and LAAC are committed to delivering economic and social development opportunities for Arrernte people.
