Codes 4 Life: 3 focus areas in 2021

Building on their work from the previous year, the Codes 4 Life team outlines three key areas they will focus on in 2021.

Codes 4 Life is an Aboriginal men’s program that seeks to address and curb unlawful behaviour stemming from alcohol and substance abuse, by reconnecting Aboriginal men with their cultural identity and responsibilities. All workshops are facilitated by Manager Michael Liddle and Project Officer Wayne Scrutton, and overseen by Aboriginal Elders.

Over the past year, Codes 4 Life has conducted adapted workshops in high-impact locations, and created a platform to improve the delivery of programs for Aboriginal men’s wellbeing. The team has worked to improve understanding about men’s health; increased awareness about the issues around alcohol, marijuana, domestic violence and sexual health; and drawn attention to how bad habits affect Aboriginal men’s wellbeing.
