Precinct visits a hit

A focus of DKA’s work is shar­ing local cul­ture and the knowl­edge gen­er­at­ed across the Precinct. This year we have been delight­ed to host the fol­low­ing key stake­hold­ers and esteemed guests:

• Con­sul Gen­er­al of India, Perth, Mr Amit Kumar Mishra came to learn about the Precinc­t’s focus on renew­able ener­gy and dis­cov­er what learn­ings are applic­a­ble in India.
• NT Chief Min­is­ter Michael Gun­ner was briefed on DKA’s oper­a­tions and pro­grams, with a par­tic­u­lar focus on the Intyal­heme Cen­tre for Future Ener­gy, which will assist the NT achieve its 50% renew­able ener­gy tar­get by 2030. 
• Fed­er­al MP for Lin­gia­ri War­ren Snow­don toured the Precinct and was equal­ly inter­est­ed in DKA’s oper­a­tions and role in deliv­er­ing a sus­tain­able ener­gy market.
• For­eign pol­i­cy offi­cers from Cam­bo­dia and Myan­mar, Mar Vichea Huot and Ye Wint Kyaw, along with offi­cers from DFAT Can­ber­ra, received detailed infor­ma­tion about inno­va­tion and eco­nom­ic devel­op­ment in region­al Aus­tralia, and the role of Abo­rig­i­nal Aus­tralians in con­tem­po­rary Australia. 
• Tourism NT host­ed a del­e­ga­tion of inter­state teach­ers and DKA pre­sent­ed them with a taste of our edu­tourism expe­ri­ence. Their feed­back con­firmed the val­ue of the oppor­tu­ni­ty for schools from across the coun­try, and the world, to vis­it the Precint to engage in STEAM activ­i­ties and cul­tur­al expe­ri­ences. Edu­tourism expe­ri­ences will be deliv­ered to inter­state school groups from 2019 and become an impor­tant knowl­edge shar­ing activ­i­ty at the Precinct.
